Read this one properly. It's the most important page on the site, and it is written to be understood rather than skipped.
We are publishers, not your advisor
Lock & Load Finance is a newsletter. We write about companies and markets for information and education. That is the whole business.
We are not a registered investment adviser, a broker-dealer, or a financial planner. We are not registered with the SEC, FINRA, or any state securities regulator. Nothing we publish is personalized investment advice, because we don't know you — not your income, your debts, your taxes, your age, your job security, or what you're saving for.
Everything we write goes to every subscriber at once, identically. That is the definition of general commentary, not advice. If you want advice about your situation, hire a licensed advisor who is legally obliged to act in your interest. We are not that, and we don't want to be mistaken for it.
Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell
When we write that we're buying something, we are telling you what we are doing and why. We are not telling you to do it. The decision is yours, the money is yours, and the outcome is yours.
You can lose money
Trading and investing carry real risk, including the loss of everything you put in. Some strategies can cost you more than you put in.
Never invest money you can't afford to lose. Never invest money you need soon.
Past results don't predict future ones
We publish our track record because we think you deserve to see it. But a scorecard describes what already happened. It does not tell you what happens next, and no honest reading of it can.
Any performance figure we publish is what it says it is — not a projection, not a promise, and not typical of what any individual reader will experience. Your results will differ, because your entry price, your exit timing, your position size, your fees, and your taxes are all different from ours.
We will never promise you a number
If you ever see us guarantee a return, promise you'll make money, or claim there's no risk — assume you're looking at an impersonation or a hacked account, and tell us.
We may own what we write about
We often hold positions in the companies we cover. Where we do, we say so at the top of the issue, before the argument, every time.
Be aware of what that means: if you buy after we do, we benefit from the price moving up. We think disclosure plus a published exit price is the honest way to handle that conflict, but you should weigh it yourself.
We do not accept payment to feature a company. We do not run paid stock promotions of any kind. If an issue is ever sponsored, the sponsorship will be labelled clearly and will never be a security we're covering.
Forward-looking statements
Much of what we write is about what we think will happen. Those are opinions about the future, and the future has a habit of ignoring them. Words like "expect," "should," "likely," and "we think" mark a guess, however well-researched.
We try to be accurate, but we can't promise it
We build our work from sources we believe are reliable — company filings, public data, and our own reading. We don't guarantee any of it is accurate, complete, or current. Prices, figures, and facts go stale fast. Check anything that matters before you act on it.
Where we link to other sites, we're not endorsing them and we're not responsible for what's on them.
Taxes and your jurisdiction
We don't give tax advice. What a trade costs you after tax depends on where you live and how you hold it. Talk to an accountant.
This publication is written from a United States perspective. If you read it somewhere else, the products we mention may be unavailable, taxed differently, or restricted where you live. That's on you to check.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Lock & Load Finance, its owners, writers, and contractors are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of anything we publish — including trading losses, lost profits, or indirect and consequential damages — whether or not we were warned it could happen.
You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions.
